Core Scientific bitcoin production grows 6% sequentially in January

Core Scientific ( OTCPK:CORZQ ) said Monday its self-mining operations produced ~1.5K bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) in January, up 6.4% from December. Customer-owned ASIC servers produced ~471 bitcoin in January. The cryptocurrency miner operated ~166K self-mining servers as of January-end, accounting for ~80% of its total number of servers and representing self-mining hashrate of 17 EH/s. As of month-end, Core Scientific ( OTCPK:CORZQ ) operated ~206K ASIC servers for both colocation and self-mining, representing a total of 21.1 EH/s at its data center facilities. Core Scientific ( OTCPK:CORZQ ) powered down data center operations on several occasions in January, with curtailments for the month totaling 10K MWh. Earlier, the crypto miner announced a loan of up to $70M from B. Riley as it sought to continue operations after filing for Chapter 11 protection .
