Cipher Mining bitcoin production dips nearly 2% in April

Cipher Mining ( NASDAQ: CIFR ) said Monday it mined ~406 bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) in April, 1.7% lower than its production in the prior month. The cryptocurrency miner sold ~406 bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) during the month as part of its regular treasury management process. Cipher ( CIFR ) ended April with a balance of ~427 BTC. The company's total deployed rig count crossed 59K after it energized its remaining new Bitmain and MicroBT miners. Its month-end operating hash rate reached 6.0 EH/s, of whih over 5 EH/s of self-mining operations are at its Odessa facility, while the remaining are at its other three sites. Cipher ( CIFR ) expanded operations at its Odessa facility during April, while funding both operating expenses and capital expenditures through ongoing operations. The firm ended the month with the potential to mine ~16.2 BTC per day. Earlier, Cipher ( CIFR ) sold more bitcoin than produced in March.
