Binance spot trading resumes after temporary halt (update)

Update: Updates status of spot trading. Binance, the biggest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, on Friday resumed all trading activity after a temporary suspension due to a bug. The exchange carried out temporary system maintenance after a bug was found in its matching engine, which matches buy and sell orders. "Trailing stop order will be temporarily suspended until further notice. Existing trailing orders have expired automatically," Binance said in a statement . Binance CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao earlier said initial analysis indicated that the matching engine encountered a bug on a trailing stop order. "Deposits & withdrawals are paused as a SOP (standard operating procedure). Funds are #SAFU," CZ tweeted . Bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) saw a sharp dip in its price as soon as Binance suspended trading, falling to as low as~$27.5K, but has since recovered to ~$27.9K. Earlier, Binance halted British pound deposit and withdrawal services for new users .
