Bit Digital ( NASDAQ: BTBT ) and Mega Matrix ( NYSE: MPU ) formed a joint venture that will seek to provide non-custodial staking tools in which users' private keys are not stored in its database, they said Tuesday. The joint venture, to be 40% owned by Bit Digital ( BTBT ), will develop proof-of-stake technology tools for digital assets through the staking platform "MarsProtocol," an institutional-grade non-custodial staking technology. Bit Digital ( BTBT ) stock rose 4.3% in Tuesday after-market trading. Mega Matrix ( MPU ) stock was unchanged. The joint venture will be domiciled in Singapore. Before offering any services, the joint venture will undertake a regulatory review to ensure that its services fully comply with the laws of Singapore and any other nation in which it seeks to conduct business. Its services won't be offered to U.S. individual residents, it said. On Monday, Bit Digital ( BTBT ) said is produced 108.2 bitcoins ( BTC-USD ) in February, down 19% from January.
