Binance chief Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, indicated on Friday that its U.S. entity may consider pulling out of its agreement to acquire the assets of bankrupt Voyager Digital ( OTCPK:VYGVQ ). The CEO of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange floated the possibility via tweet in response to a U.S. judge's reaction to an SEC attorney who didn't provide specific arguments about its objections to the Binance.US/Voyager ( OTCPK:VYGVQ ) deal. Binance.US, a separate legal entity from Binance that's also controlled by CZ, responded to a Seeking Alpha request for comment: "Binance.US remains committed to the Voyager ( OTCPK:VYGVQ ) transaction." In a later tweet, CZ said the company is "still in support of the deal and returning funds to users as quickly as possible, if allowed to do so." Last month, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and New York state's financial regulator filed objections to the Binance.US deal to acquire Voyager Digital ( OTCPK:VYGVQ ) for ~$1B.
