Tim Berners-Lee, the architect of the World Wide Web (WWW), stated that digital currencies are “just speculative” and compared them to the “dot-com” bubble, during which internet stocks were often overvalued without a sound business strategy to back them. But, the British computer scientist used stronger words to describe crypto: “Dangerous” and a form of “gambling.”
